WELCOMING YOU HOME
Our first gathering as a community was on September 16, 1992, as a storefront on Highway 411 in Madisonville, and our name was the Catholic Community of Monroe County. With the help of the Diocese of Knoxville, the land was purchased on Old Tellico Highway, and the church, now officially St. Joseph the Worker, was blessed on May 25, 2001. Since then we have had Fr. Tom Vos (2003), Fr. Peter Iorio (2006), Fr. P.J. McGinnity (2009), and Fr. John Arthur Orr (2016) reside as Pastor of our parish. On, July 1, 2018,
Fr. Julius Abuh was assigned as our fifth pastor and now leads the parish with hopes of continued growth.

VIRTUS CHANGES: ALL VOLUNTEERS PLEASE READ!!
The Diocese's Safe Environment Program, formerly known as VIRTUS, has been updated, improved, and renamed. Everyone who is a volunteer (and employee) at St Joseph the Worker Parish must sign up with this new program (CMGConnect) and submit to a new background check and watch new training videos. The good news is that everything is now ALL ONLINE and extremely easy to do from the comfort of your home on a computer or from your cell phone. The Diocese will maintain a database of everyone and their status, making it easier for those who volunteer at multiple parishes to not have to submit duplicate forms. Please create a new account at http://Knoxville.CMGConnect.org and click on Volunteer to begin. If you have any questions, please contact Sue at the church office!

Thought for the Week:
"A single 'Blessed be God' in adversity is worth more than a thousand acts of thanksgiving in prosperity." ~St. John of Avila (Apostle of Andalusia, the Master, 1500 - 1569).
"If you follow the will of God, you know that in spite of all the terrible things that happen to you, you will never lose a final refuge."~ Pope Benedict XVI
