St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church Women’s Group
Since the founding of St. Joseph, the Worker Catholic Church (first gathering in 1992 and Blessing of the Building in 2001), the women of this parish have come together to meet the needs of our church, parishioners, and the surrounding Monroe County community. It is with concern, kindness, and devotion that women of our parish through the years, initiated and participated in only some of numerous projects and continued responsibilities, such as: providing after funeral service luncheons and receptions for family and friends of deceased, working at Good Shepherd center in many capacities, Bible study group, visits to the homebound of the parish, providing prayer shawls and lap blankets for sick, volunteering at the local Animal Shelter resale store, organizing events such as the Italian Dining Out and Chili and Soup Supper for fellowship and fundraising. hosting a Father’s Day Brunch after Sunday Mass, each year hosting a Lenten Lunch on a Wednesday in Lent attended by area Christen Churches and raising money through contributions for Good Shepherd Center, hosting a Candlelight Tea before Advent for women to prepare spiritually for the Christmas Season, contributing to purchases for the church kitchen and donating to numerous worthy causes throughout the years. The group also planned, implemented, built, and maintains our beautiful Grotto to Our Lady, Blessed Mother.
